Camp Sierra's location provides an
amazing variety of fun and activities. Huntington Lake, surrounded by the majesty of the
High Sierra country less than 20 minutes away is enjoyed for its boating. The dependable
breezes are perfect for pleasure sailing or competitive regattas.
Fishing, too, is great and it is a springboard
to high Sierra hiking and exploration. Kaiser Pass, Rancheria Falls
and the McKinley Grove of Big Trees, together
with the breathtaking views at the crest of
the mighty Sierras from White Bark Vista are only
a few of the spectacular recreational resources of this famous area.
Huntington Lake water drops more than a thousand feet through giant
steel arteries to the Big Creek hydro electric turbines below. Here
it is collected in a dramatic, yet scenic, reservoir within hiking
or a short driving distance from Camp Sierra. Besides being a great place for trout
fishing, its shaded shoreline is perfect for quality relaxation.
Shaver Lake, about
15 minutes from Camp Sierra...also on Highway 168...is a favorite for fishing and most
everything. Docking and rental facilities for all water sports, from
jet skis to wake boarding to fishing to waterskiing are available.
